Funding and Community Support

Doing Good in Queenstown

Part of a community group doing good in Queenstown? We are here to support your Mahi.

Funding

Each year, we allocate funds to local organisations who work in the environmental sector. The inaugural Love Queenstown funding round will open on 4 April 2024.

Funding will be allocated to registered charitable entities who work within the Queenstown region* in the climate, conservation, and biodiversity spaces. Special consideration will be given to organisations and initiatives providing long-term benefit and who have great visibility for both locals and visitors.

This year, organisations can apply for grants of between $5-$10,000 to support their programme, project, or operational costs.

Our independent distribution committee will oversee the allocation of funds, with support from our charitable partners at The Wakatipu Community Foundation.

Click here for further details regarding our first funding round or contact grants@queenstown-wanaka.nz with questions, ideas or initiatives we might like to know about.

*Love Queenstown exclusively serves the Queenstown region, including the Cardrona Saddle to the north, Kingston to the south, as well as Frankton, Arrowtown, Glenorchy and Gibbston. Funded projects or organisations must create benefit within this geographical area.

Volunteer Opportunities

Love Queenstown connects visitors with volunteer opportunities within our region, so they can lend an hour, or two, to a local cause that’s close to their hearts. You can share current volunteer opportunities on the Queenstown website by registering an event here.

Storytelling

We want to connect our visitors to our place by sharing the stories of our people. Reach out if you have a story to tell, a community event to promote, or an opportunity for visitors to get their hands dirty. In the meantime, check out the features on these incredible local organisations here.
